Besides procrastinating like crazy on the internet, I've been managing my Jewelry business like it's a full-time job. I have a shop-wide 15% off jewelry sale going on at the moment so check it out!
( Personal life ramble.Collapse )
So um, what did I post this for? Oh yeah, my Jewelry sale! I've added a ton of items since I last posted in here. Besides my Baker Street Collection, I now have a Middle Earth collection and a few items inspired by (the British radio show) Cabin Pressure, Game of Thrones, and the Avengers.
I've really been into making charm bracelets/necklaces lately, and I also have been making ID badge holders since my mom works at a school and has to carry around her ID all the time.

Since everybody and their mom is shipping packages now, this is most likely the last week that you'll be able to get an order which is guaranteed to arrive by Christmas!

Thank you so much to anyone who purchases and/or spreads the word! As some of you know, my family and I are going through financial troubles so it is greatly appreciated.
Know what's ridiculous? The damn hospital gave all these tests to my grandma including an MRI scan because of the dizziness and did not check her damn ears. They had no idea what caused her condition and just simply called it "vertigo". She went to her regular doctor a few days ago and it turns out she has an EAR INFECTION. Which makes sense, because your inner ear affects balance and stuff like that. The hospital also gave a super expensive medication for a rash/infection on her leg (which was actually what they were more concerned about, since she's a diabetic) and the doctor said it wouldn't be necessary because the antibiotic he prescribed for the ear would help with that infection as well. So, she was basically in the hospital for about a week for nothing.
Anyway, I promised pictures of her kitties so here they are!

Thank you so much to everyone who bought something. Any little bit helps and I really appreciate it. It’s been fun setting this whole thing up and I’ll definitely do it again. <3( New earrings that I just listed...Collapse ) Anyway, I've been babysitting my grandma's two cats (a skittish tabby and an extremely lovable Russian blue) while she is still in the hospital with vertigo. Aside from being dizzy when she gets up she's been alright, I've been able to talk to her on the phone so that's a bit relieving. We don't know when she'll be able to be let out but until then, I'm at her house with no internet. I'll try my best to keep you guys posted about her condition, and I will definitely be taking pictures of Sarah and Tommy (the cats) since I don't have any saved on my computer. :3
My grandma called at 1am last night saying that she wasn’t feeling well, like she was really dizzy and about to pass out. My mom went over to see her and called the ambulance (thank God we live 2 blocks away) and she was rushed to the hospital.
The paramedics said it sounded like she might have had the symptoms of a stroke, but I don’t know what the verdict was. In any case, she’s still in the hospital and supposedly hasn’t even gotten a room yet. My mom said they were actually going to let her out if she could get up and go to the bathroom but she couldn’t get up.
Ugh, so it was quite a scare last night… Especially since a few months ago my dad’s mother called my aunt saying pretty much the same thing, she showed up, and found her dead.
It’s been a very bad year for my family, especially for my poor mom. Her uncle and aunt on her father’s side died within months from each other. Also, her other uncle (her mother’s brother) died this year too. Her sister and her father died a few years ago. My grandma is literally the only one she has left.
To top it all off, our cat is still lost. He’s been missing for months and my mom has been stressing out trying to do everything to get him back. We would even settle for finding him dead somewhere. It’s the not knowing that’s the hard part.
Meanwhile, I’m in financial crisis mode… The bills for college just came in, and I lost $100 doing a craft fair which cost $175 to go to and I only made $70. I can’t even seem to get multiple sales during this huge event in my shop! I only made one $11 sale all yesterday, meanwhile I’ve been advertising like crazy. Tons and tons of views, no sales. I’m very disappointed since I’ve put so much time and effort into listing all those items, and there’s a lot more I still have to put up.
I don’t even know what to do anymore.

I am very grateful for anyone who decides to make a purchase for various financial reasons.
Hi guys! I posted this on tumblr and I might as well say it here too.
Well, another craft fair another $100 lost. The table price for this 2-day one was $175 and I only managed to make $70. Meanwhile, we spent most of our earnings on food and holiday gifts.
Everyone at this fair did horrible. Sunday was slightly better than Saturday but there were still hardly any customers. It’s not like this show wasn’t advertised well- I’ve done one at a high school close to me hosted by the same company and I’ve done pretty well every time. It’s just that a) many people in the area are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy and b) other vendors have said that they’ve done fairs at other places in this town and all of them weren’t all that great.
I tried everything I could, and must have re-arranged my shop displays at least three times each day. It didn’t matter- practically everyone still breezed past me! I suppose the fact that there were also a lot of other jewelry vendors there had something to do with it but I have other items like hair accessories and everything’s at a reasonable price. I also guess I have to be a better salesperson but that’s really hard since I’m on the autistic spectrum.
The whole thing just left me depressed. I originally signed up for this fair because the Holiday one at the high school had the table price increase dramatically since last year. My entire family is having financial issues and I thought that since I do so well at that one, I could easily make the table cost and then some at this one. But of course that didn’t end up happening.
The price for the Holiday fair I usually go to is now $275. I would love to go (in fact, I need to go) but I don’t think I can get the money in time. I believe it’s on December 22th and 23rd, which would be a perfect time to get last minute shoppers. The only way I can raise money is if I sell items in my Etsy shop. I was happy that I got a sale there last night but that was only $10 and cannot make up for my serious debt.
In order to get some of my money back I’m going to have a huge sale starting on black Friday, which is next week. I’ll continue adding more items in the shop until then, so there will be A LOT of things to choose from. I’ll keep you guys posted about that.
After five years of experience I can safely say that being a craft fair vendor is a gamble. It seems like each and every show is different and you can’t really predict how people are going to act. The first two years of selling went pretty well but with these past ones I’ve been to hell and back.
Something good needs to come out of it soon or I’m going to be in serious trouble. And as I said in this post, I’m not doing that great as it is.
( It's really long. You have been warned...Collapse )
Well, I guess that's enough right now. I might post a few pictures of my latest jewelry creations in another entry since I can't access my new jewelry business blog at the moment, but we'll see.
Hope you guys are doing well!
...But I DID IT! Behold, my first upload on Mod the Sims!
Isn't he a cutie? I'll share Sherlock eventually, but I'm not sure if it should be on MTS since Tea Leaf's is already there.
